Baltic Fleet ltd was found in 1992 and the company’s main aim is to provide all types of services for the transport vessels in the port of Saint-Petersburg. Also the company provides various types of services amongst which are:

• tugs assistance and mooring assistance in the port
• tug services in the outer sea
• icebreaking service (icebreaking in the port);
• sludge removal services
• fresh water supply
• delivery/removal of equipment onto/from the vessel
• hydrographic and diving services
• fire safety watch
• emergency and rescue services
• repair services (vessels and equipment)

The company has purchased two tugs in 2003 and started its activities. From then on the company has been growing rapidly and eventually became a competitive player in the market.

In January of 2008 the fleet of the company has grown to 6 tugs. Amongst them is a large tug-boat Akmal, which was built in the Pella shipyard. It has started its operations in October 2007. Also two large tug-boats Tornado and Tayfun have been ordered. Their capabilities are much larger than of similar tugs in Saint-Petersburg port. They were constructed in Vietnam by the largest Dutch shipyard “Damen Shipyards”.
